Bringing history to life

Anderson Monarchs Barnstorming Tours serve as a way to bring history to life for inner-city youth. In 1997 we purchased a Flxible Clipper model touring bus from 1947 - the same year that Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier. Since then the bus has served as a centerpiece of our program, allowing Monarchs teams to travel the country and travel back in time. Multi-week tours across the country teach our athletes about the Negro Leagues, the Civil Rights Movement, baseball history, and American history.

HELP US RESTORE THE BUS

To mark our upcoming 30th Anniversary in 2025 we are working to raise $150,000 to completely restore this unique piece of American culture and ensure that it is usable for decades to come. You can help us bring history to life for generations of future Monarchs! Please consider making a tax deductible contribution to our 1947 Fund by clicking the donate button below or visiting our Support the Monarchs Page.
